Domino’s Artisan Pizza: Spinach & Feta

I “won” this Domino’s Artisan Pizza 2 weeks ago through Facebook. Finally, I was one of the lucky ones who got the timing correctly. There’s a certain hour when you could enter and get 1 free pizza but it’s all about great timing. It doesn’t last all day and they give it to a certain number of entries.

Dinner @ Two Dogs Pizza

Two Dogs Pizza is the only local owned pizza place where we live. Tonight was the second time we’ve eaten at the place in the year and 2 weeks that we’ve lived in this area. It’s a pretty decent sized local pizza restaurant with a buffet but we’ve discovered tonight only lasts until 2pm. The first time we went there last year we thought the prices were kinda high and the pizzas, although not that bad, are nothing extraordinary. Which explains why in a year and two weeks that we’ve been here, this is the only second time we’ve gone back.

Tonight we ordered from the menu since the buffet(salad and pizzas) was done. We ordered a large Bulldog Bonanza which has sausage, bacon, ham, pepperoni and cheese toppings. We also got a free order of bread sticks.

Homemade Veggie Lovers Pizza

Sometimes I get the urge to just eat vegetables all day. I’m no vegetarian coz I can’t live without pork unless of course I get the crazy idea to join a reality show to win $1Million and be stuck in an island with nothing to eat but exotic veggies. But I digress. Still, I do love vegetables. Gotta have vegetables with every meal. But like I said, sometimes I just want to eat veggies and veggies alone. I could’ve just easily sautéed whatever veggies I have from the crisper and come up with a vegetable stir-fry but that would make me crave for rice so I decided to make Veggie Lovers Pizza instead. You can’t eat pizza with rice. Well at least not in this household. My husband said he likes meat in his pizza when he saw it after coming home from work but while eating his 3rd(or was it 4th) slice, he said it was really good. INDEED it was!

BBQ Chicken & Turkey Bacon Pizza

Every time I opened one of my cupboards, a jar of pizza sauce kept staring at me. For about 2 weeks. This past Sunday I finally gave up and said, “fiiinnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee, I’ll make pizza for dinner.” Then I realized I don’t have the usual pizza toppings like pepperoni, or sausage, or black olives, or mushrooms or even peppers. Geez, my fridge really sucked last Sunday. But wait, I have chicken. I always have chicken. And I have half a jar of bbq sauce. So a plan was formulated. Cook bbq chicken in the oven, make the dough, open the jar of pizza sauce, sprinkle cheese and ooohhh, I found a few slices of turkey bacon too. BBQ Chicken & Turkey Bacon Pizza sounded like a great plan and it turned out delicious. YAY!

Ricotta-Spinach-Tomatoes Pizza From Sami’s Pizza

My husband had to take care of car stuff back in the town we used to live in so while I was fixing myself in the bathroom to look human, he told me the plan. “This this this car.. this this this, then I’ll stop at Sami’s to get pizza for dinner.” I’m such an attentive wife, no? Sami’s and Pizza were all I understood really. My stomach never fails me. Well, take a look at that pizza above. Who wouldn’t perk up upon hearing Sami’s. [One of?] The pizza place here in North Carolina owned by Authentic Italians from New York City. YUP, they’re BONA FIDE!

He called me after getting things done with the car to ask what I wanted for toppings. I started saying sausage and black olives and green peppers and mushrooms. Pepperoni will be the other pizza for the kids. Then I remembered. Waaiiittttttt. Sami’s. The place who makes garlic white mozzarella pizza with ricotta cheese, spinach and tomatoes. OMG. Of course we’ll get that instead. WTHeck was I thinking sausages, black olives, green peppeers and mushroom for? I mean they’re good toppings but trust me, garlic white mozzarella pizza with ricotta cheese, spinach and tomatoes are sooooooooooooooooo much better.

Sami’s Pizza could kick Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Little Caesar’s, and Papa John’s any day. That’s not the only great toppings they have of course. A lot more with perfect thin and crispy crust, plus other authentic delicious Italian goodies. I’ve had my favorite Tiramisu a few times too. Aaahhh.. like I said, they are bona fide!

2 large pizzas: 1 pepperoni with cheese and 1 garlic white mozzarella pizza with ricotta cheese, spinach and tomatoes = $32.27.

Chicken Alfredo Pizza In 2 Variations

This is chicken alfredo pizza in 2 variations. One side has spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese while the other one has cheddar cheese. They are both sufficient pizzas that didn’t need all that fancy dough flipping in the air. Although that would be really fun of course.

INGREDIENTS:
2 packs of pizza dough mixes
1 jar of Alfredo sauce
3 boneless chicken breasts, cubed
2 cups of fresh baby spinach
3-4 small button mushrooms, sliced
1 tomato, diced
shredded mozzarella cheese
shredded cheddar cheese
Italian seasoning
dried oregano
dried basil
salt & pepper
olive oil

Preheat the oven to 355°

Make the pizza dough according to the packet instructions.

Heat a non-stick pan then drizzle olive oil. Sauté the cubed chicken. Let it cook until tender. Season with dried basil, dried oregano, Italian seasoning, plus salt and pepper.

Brush a pizza pan with olive oil. Work the pizza dough around to form a round shape. Poke the dough generously with a fork. Stick it in the oven for 5 minutes. (Per pizza packet instruction)

After 5 minutes, take the dough out. Spread the Alfredo sauce evenly around the dough. You won’t use the whole jar. Store the leftover in the fridge. Place evenly the cooked chicken on top of the sauce. In one half, put sliced mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, then generously top with shredded mozzarella cheese. On the other half, generously top it with shredded cheddar cheese.

Bake it in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese has melted.

Looking good, eh?

Who says home-made pizzas are boring. They’re probably the best ones coz you could put ANYTHING you want as toppings. If you want tomato based sauce with these toppings then go for it!

Pizza “Bruschetta”

My 3 yr old daughter is currently on a phase where she’s only eating the toppings off of her pizza. She picks the pepperoni or sausages, mushrooms, olives, etc off and then she’s done. Last Friday we had take-out pizza which also provided us lunch the following day since we also has antipasto, wings and garlic bread with the pizza so it was inevitable we’ll have leftovers.
