Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings & Asparagus

Those Lawry’s marinades are not just good for marinating meats, yah know. They’re nice sauces to toss into sauteed dishes like this chicken wings with asparagus. This is especially quite easy to whip up on busy days or when you’re only cooking something for yourself for lunch or dinner.

Filipino Egg Rolls W/ Sweet & Sour Sauce

filipino-egg-rolls

Filipino Egg Rolls (Lumpia) are one of the best finger foods for parties like Superbowl. I’m going to post a quick recipe here to add into a roundup I’m currently working on. Enjoy.

These babies need to be wrapped a day ahead. You can find the egg roll wrappers at any Oriental store. Some regular grocery stored have them now too. Also, for the veggies, I suggest you buy the packed shredded carrots and cabbages from the vegetable section. It’s actually the coleslaw pack. Just add chopped garlic and onions at home.

Blueberry Bagel W/ Cream Cheese, Egg, Bacon & Cheese Sandwich

bagel-cream-cheese,egg&bacon-4

For our traditional weekend breakfast (Mommy doesn’t cook breakfast during the week) this morning I asked hubs how did he like the eggs, scrambled or fried? He said he didn’t really feel like eating breakfast. He’s sick right now. He’s the last member of the family who caught the bug. First was the baby girl, then the son, which of course ended up with me and now it’s Daddy’s turn.

But then, before I could leave the room, Hubs said, “you know, I could really go for some bagels with cream cheese, an egg, bacon and cheese on top sandwich“.

For a sick guy who didn’t feel like eating breakfast, he sure worked up an appetite in a matter of 2 seconds from the time I asked how he liked his eggs.

FeistyCook Introduction -Again-

Hello once again. Thanks for being patient with me. I apologize for taking such a long time to bring back my foodblog. Let’s just say, I have been fighting with technical problems.

Just for a refresher, I have had my own foodblog the same time I started “journalling” online. Way way back in ’99. Before, my recipes were part of a personal website. I didn’t have my own foodlbog domain until I think 2002? It has been a while, sorry. I was Ilocana Chef. It was a subtitle to my personal blog, Ilocana. A Filipino heritage that I’m really proud of to be one. After a while, I decided to find something that fits me now as a wife, a mom and a woman. Feistymomma.com was born. It just makes sense that I’m also the FeistyCook, no? :) .

My love for food, cooking and blogging about them lead to a problogging job under Forks.ca which pretty much took all my attention which made me neglect my own foodblog. I’ve left that blogging job to concentrate more on other jobs and life. But I just can’t have an online presence without my own foodblog so I decided to resurrect FeistyCook. Minor glitches later, here it is. Wheww.

Please bear with me while I continue working on it and hope to see you around…
