Think about this, Italian Sausages cooked then simmered in Prego Italian Sausage & Garlic Spaghetti sauce, then stuffed in slightly toasted French bread, then finished off with shredded mozzarella cheese that would deliciously melt on top thanks to the heat from the sauce and bread. This is what you’ll get. Nothing fancy but scrumptious nonetheless.
Poke a few holes into the sausages. Place in a skillet, add 1/2 cup of water. Cook in medium heat until the water disappears and the sausages are browned. Stir occasionally to brown all sides. Add half a jar of Prego Italian Sausages & Garlic spaghetti sauce. Sprinkle a little bit of salt and pepper if you want. Cover the pan and simmer for 35-40 minutes or so. Stir occasionally.
In the last 15 minutes of simmering the sausages, preheat the oven to 365°.
Cut the French bread in the middle but don’t go all the way to the bottom. Lightly brush the insides of the bread with butter. Carefully part the bread in the middle but don’t cut it in half. Stick it in the oven to 6-8 minutes.
Slice the French bread in quarters. Assemble the sandwich. Sausage with a little bit of sauce, then cheese on top. The cheese should melt right off.
Make it for lunch or dinner.
