Pan-Fried Shark Steaks

EAT SHARK sometime in this lifetime, √. Yup, Shark is finally off my list of food to eat. It’s not bad but it’s not extraordinary either. The taste of shark is not something worth trading one of my kids for, that’s for sure, Haha!

My husband found it at Food Lion and his words were, “Get The F#@$ Out Of Here.” He didn’t say it loud to get everyone’s attention of course but yeah, he doesn’t mince words.

And as you can see, it’s $5.91 for the 2 pieces of shark steaks which is pretty much the same as 2 salmon steaks so the price is not bad either.

I seasoned both sides of the shark steaks with light sprinkles of blackened seasoning. Heated up a non-skillet pan in medium heat, then added butter to melt. I then pan-friend the steak, 8 minutes on one side. Flipped them over to cook the other side for about 4 minutes. Turned the stove off and left the fish there to continue cooking.

Served with buttered white rice and green beans. Not too shabby. The shark steaks were flaky and had some nice texture. I was so happy I didn’t burn ‘em. Hubs said he’ll buy it again if it’s available. I would too.

Hm, simple enough. Thanks. It seems like baking/grilling/broiling is a popular way to approach shark steak. By the way, be careful not to eat more than 6 oz of shark a month because of higher mercury levels.
Thanks @Mike. Don’t worry, shark steak is too expensive to be eating a lot anyway
