Miso Ginger Pork Cutlets
From my last visit to the Pork Butcher, I bought a pork shoulder roast that I was going to cook in a crock pot but later on changed my mind. See, I bought a bottle of Miso dressing that I thought would be a great use for marinating. So I sliced part of the shoulder roast in cutlets and marinated them in a miso-ginger marinade that I mixed with other ingredients.

Chicken-Spinach Lasagna
People are surprised when I tell them one of my favorite dishes is lasagna. I’m guessing being Asian has something to do with it. I try not to make lasagna often though because as much as I love it, it’s a heavy meal and takes a lot of work. Well, for a busy mom like me anyway.
I alternate making 2 kinds of lasagna. The ground beef with spinach, tomato sauce and cheddar cheese and my “white” lasagna which consists of chicken, alfredo sauce and mozzarella cheese. For today, let me show you how I make the “white” chicken-spinach lasagna.
Turkey Salt & Pepper Shakers
It was during our summer vacation last year when I decided that I would collect salt and pepper shakers (and Christmas ornaments) from the places we visit every year. I started by buying the Salt & Pepper shakers that represented the essence of Virginia Beach. Tonight made me re-think that tradition for a little bit.
An Easy Way To Make Donut Holes
The family loves donuts. And when the family loves something, I have to learn how to make ‘em instead of buying boxes from Krispy Kreme or at the grocery stores. I haven’t really dedicated myself in learning how to make the donuts like how the latter stores make it. As a matter of fact, I just accidentally came upon the easiest way to make donuts one day. Mini Donuts or Donut Holes (however you call it) to be exact. When I told the husband and son not to grab another box of donuts a couple of weeks ago because I planned on making some their “really???” reactions were priceless. Talk about a challenge.
Oven-Steamed Flan
Besides Tiramisu, and Chocolate Volcano Cake, my other ultimate favorite dessert is Flan. Yes, I’m just piling on the sugar and calories in my thighs and you know where else hah. I don’t make any of them that often. Only when I’m really craving each of them. And of course I don’t make it all at the same time. Can you imagine though if there’s Tiramisu, Chocolate Volcano cake, and flan in front of you? It’s like heaven but you’ll definitely regret it once you’re in bed for the night. So I suggest, make your favorite dessert, one at a time, in separate occasions.
I made Flan this time around and yes, it feels like heaven

I Watch Too Much Cooking Shows
The amount of food and cooking shows I watch on TV would probably make anyone who doesn’t spend 5 minutes in the kitchen cringe. In my defense, these cooking shows are on while I’m working (hehe). FoodTV network would seem like it’s on 24 hours a day. Not at all. I still have Soaps On ABC to watch during the day
. Without having to painstakingly explain my food and cooking shows obsession, let me just enumerate the ones I watch.
Black and Blue Burger
When you hear the term “black and blue”, it conjures an image far far away from food, right? Well, today might sort of change that. My husband made his Black & Blue Burger and as usual it was great. “Black” comes from the blackened beef patties, while “blue” comes from blue cheese.
Honey-Spicy Brown Mustard Vinaigrette
Instead of using the store bought salad dressings that I have in the fridge, I usually try to create my own vinaigrette. After making a red wine vinegar vinaigrette for the leftover flank steak on top of a bed of organic salad, I decided to create this honey-spicy mustard vinaigrette the next day.
Bear in mind that the measurements I’m posting below are just my estimates. I am an "eyeballer" kind of cook.
