I got this idea from a TV Commercial where a Mom breaded boneless chicken breasts with French fried onions then baked them in the oven and dinner was ready in no time. Hubs and I agreed that the chicken looked really good. I’ve planned on trying it for a while now but didn’t have enough French Friend onions until a few days ago. Instead of boneless chicken breasts, I decided to use pork chops. I’m a porker like Anthony Bourdain so I’m always looking for recipes that could work with pork. And this definitely works with pork.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups of French Fried Onions

4 pork chops

1 egg

1 cup of milk

seasoning of salt, black pepper and  garlic powder

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Put the French fried onions on a large ziploc/freezer bag. Make sure to let the air out then close. Use a rolling pin to crush the fried onions in coarse/crumbly consistency.

Beat the egg and milk together. Season with salt, black pepper and garlic powder. Coat the pork chops with the egg mixture. Drench both sides of the chops with the French fried onions.

Cover a sheet pan with foil for easy clean up. Place the pork chops onto the pan, then bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes.

And there you go. How easy was that? Crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside. So easy you could do it with your eyes closed. Or maybe not, :) . Try it with boneless chicken breasts too. Serve with steamed veggies and Lipton pasta sides or brown rice.
