If you’re like me, you like peeling off the broccoli stalk instead of throwing it away, slice it diagonally and add them in your stir-fry. I discovered this past summer, through my sister-in-law that you can find a bag of shredded broccoli stalks in any grocery stores. She attended some kind of a party and one of the snacks at the party was a slaw with shredded stalks of broccoli, carrots, red cabbage and mandarin orange. It was really good.

Upon learning that fact, I searched for a bag at WalMart and lo and behold, it was there. It’s called “hearts of broccoli“. Kinda strange but whatever.

I made a coleslaw out of the bag and it was a delicious side dish.

INGERDIENTS :

  • 1 bag of hearts of broccoli (shredded broccoli stalks, carrots, and red cabbage)
  • 3 (or 4) spoonfuls of mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp of red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • salt and pepper for seasoning

Mix everything together. Store in the fridge before serving. Easy as can be. A perfect accompaniment to burgers or sandwiches. As well as BBQ or any grilled dishes.
